Scotland U15 lost the toss to Jersey at Rugby and had to field first in their second match of the competition.
The Scottish bowlers got off to the best start when Robbie McCallum clean bowled Harrison Carlyon with the third ball of the day and then struck with the last ball of his over bowling David Bourne for a duck.
The bowlers continued make life difficult as Thompson (5) and Heward (11) also perished to leave Jersey on 68 for 4 in the eighteenth over.
However Matthew Daubeney was proving difficult to remove as he made a patient 45 from 55 balls finding the boundary with eight fours before he became the fifth wicket to fall with the total on 77.
Sumerauer (2) and Packman (2) fell cheaply to put Scotland in control as Jersey were reduced to 95 for 7.
However Matthew Donaldson (42) aided by David Birrell (26) gave stubborn resistance to see the Jersey bowled out for 165 in the fortieth over.
Robbie McCallum with 3 for 33 was the pick of the bowlers with the rest of the wickets shared out.
Scotland's reply also got off to a shaky start as Guy was bowled by Birrell for a duck in the third over to make it 7 for 1.
This became 76 for 4 as Crawley (24), Diamond (12) and Ihtisham ul Haq (11) were all dismissed.
Callum Garden and Jack Bradburn with a 46 run partnership got the Scots back into the match before Garden was caught behind for 25 to make it 132 for 5.
The game then swung back towards Jersey as Bradburn was bowled by Thompson for 45 and Ashraf and Qureshi went cheaply to make it 136 for 8.
Ben Plomer with the help of the tail then got Scotland within grasp of victory but the Scots fell four runs short to give Jersey their first win against Scotland in the competition since 2009.
Credit to all the Jersey bowlers who stuck to their task with each of them picking up two wickets.
After the match Scotland coach Alan Patterson paid tribute to a Jersey side that had fought all the way saying “the team are disappointed to lose, but Jersey are an excellent side who fought hard for a deserved victory. The boys will learn a lot from playing these sorts of matches and hopefully can bounce back tomorrow when they play the Netherlands”.
