Scotland Under 15's defeated Guernsey by 102 runs in their first match of the European U15 Championship at Rugby School.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Scotland found themselves one down with only eight runs on the board when Angus Guy was run out for five.
All the top order got in but failed to go on and post a good score as Crawley (27), Garden (16) and Ware (12) all departed to leave Scotland on 74 for 4.
It was left to Tom Diamond batting at five to post the highest score of the innings. He was the last wicket to fall and he made 46 out of the 160 total.
Scotland will be disappointed with their performance with the bat being bowled out in the thirty fourth over.
Jack Birch with 4 for 21 was the pick of the Guernsey attack with Guibert and Lewis each picking up two wickets.
The Guernsey openers put on 24 for the first wicket helped in part by some wayward Scottish bowling before Robbie McCallum got the breakthrough bowling Carnachan for four.
The bowlers now found their line and length and the Guernsey batsmen had no answer as they were bowled out for 58 in the twenty fourth over, with extras (30) the highest score.
McCallum with 4 for 18 and Aliyan Qureshi with 4 for 12 were the best of the attack.
In the other matches Ireland defeated Jersey by 95 runs and Denmark on their return to the tournament went down by 90 runs to the Netherlands.
Scotland will now face Jersey tomorrow in their next match looking to improve on the areas which have no doubt been identified by the coaching staff.
