Ireland's Captain William Porterfield was delighted to get another victory under his team's belt, and in double quick time.
Ireland dismissed Nepal for just 53 with Kevin O'Brien coming to the party with a brilliant spell of 3 for 8 from his 4 overs.
All the bowlers contributed in an excellent display from the Unit. The batters faced with chasing 53 did so with the minimum of fuss.
Paul Stirling getting rid of some cobwebs with some much needed lusty blows. However, Ireland will take nothing for granted and refresh their batteries now to prepare for the next challenge against a dangerous PNG Side on Wednesday.
Barry Chambers: William that's as clinical as it comes in T20?
William Porterfield: Yeah it is. It was a pretty big performance from the Bowlers there, first up. To restrict them to fifty odd and take ten wickets is a pretty good effort. So it make it a lot easier for us going out there with the bat, just chasing 50.
Barry Chambers: And obviously conditions suited Ireland, but that's the beauty of home advantage?
William Porterfield: Yes, like the pitches have done a bit, every game we've played. It poses slightly different challenges. There was a lot of heavy rain overnight and obviously there's quite a bit of rain this morning as well.
With that first game going on, did well to get out there, to be honest. So it was always going to suit the Seamers in this conditions, and even when it does suite you, you've still got to produce the goods, which we did today. And all the lads stepped up, especially like Kevvy there (Kevin O'Brien) who has obviously only bowled one over in the first couple of games. And to bowl his for for 8, I think it was and get 3 for, it was a pretty good effort.
Barry Chambers: And Stuart Thompson getting a few wickets as well?
William Porterfield: Yes, another 3 for today, so it's pleasing for him, and pleasing for ourselves. So he's bowling very well at the minute, and he knows pretty well what his role is, and what he wants to do. So he's growing in that all the time. So it's good that he's taking wickets and being economical as well. So long may that continue as well.
Barry Chambers: And Paul Stirling looking like his old self there, a few audacious shots?
William Porterfield: Yeah he got a few away today, which was nice as well. It's good to see him in a bit of nick. Unfortunately got out there with one to win. Yeah it's good to see him striking the ball the way he can, and hopefully he continues that now and keeps it going through the comp.
Barry Chambers: And you'll be looking to make it four out of four on Wednesday. But PNG are a very dangerous side as they showed in the past?
William Porterfield: Yeah they have done. We played them obviously in the last warm ups, we know what they're capable of, and are a very good side. Every side in this competition has got a lot of match winners in their team. And a lot of lads that play around those as well. So we've got to nullify them from the off. And we've got to do that again, refresh up and do that again come Wednesday.
