Ireland's Under 19s made it two wins from two with a comprehensive 76 run win over The Netherlands in Jersey to keep alive their hopes of automatic qualification for the World Cup in India next year.
The Irish batsmen struggled on a turgid surface at Les Quennevais and were grateful to some lusty late order hitting from Waringstown's James Mitchell (29 from 21 balls - 2 fours, 2 sixes) and the Phoenix pair of Rory Anders (20) and Ben White (10*) to get them up to 185/9 in their 45 overs.
William McClintock top scored with a run a ball 36 sharing a second wicket stand of 57 with skipper Jack Tector who made a patient 32, and Gary McClintock a breezy 20.
Asad Zulfiqar (3-23), Asief Hoseindakes (2-17), and Davi Van Slobbe (2-29) were the pick of the Netherlands bowlers.
In reply the Dutch found the going even tougher than Ireland and struggled to gain any momentum whatsoever in their innings.
Paceman Rory Andrews had the excellent analysis of 3 for 19, while there were two wickets apiece for Tom Stanton (2-12) and Ben White (2-26) in the 76 run verdict.
Ireland face Scotland - who also have won their opening two matches - on Tuesday at FB Fields.
