Scotland hammered UAE in a one sided affair to get their World T-20 Qualifying Tournament off to a flying start.
Under bright blue skies the sun shone as Scotland's batsmen blazed away making short work of an under par Emirates score of 109.
Munsey was the star turn as he powered away to an unbeaten 62 off 36 balls that had powerful strikes finding the boundary ropes with ease. Some innovative sweeps were an entertainment in themselves and a reverse sweep brought up his 50 off 29 balls.
He was given able support by Coetzer who at one stage was behind the scoring rate of his opening partner but set about overtaking him by hitting five 4's off a single Guruge over.
Coetzer was eventually out for 39 off 16 balls, which included nine 4's, as he was bowled backing away to make room for another elegant cover drive but by that time the run chase was all but over, his wicket falling with the Scotland score on 96.
MacLead gave support while Munsey closed out the run chase and held up his end as Scotland wrapped it up with 10 overs left unused.
Earlier in the day the UAE started well with a couple of boundaries in the first over but once the initial breakthrough by pacemen Evans and Sharif it was the spinners who took charge of the match.
Both Watt and Leask took three wickets each after having stifled the runs with Leask claiming the better figures of 3 for 20 from his four overs while Watt's figures were also great with 3 for 28 from his four.
A clinical performance from Scotland in the field kept the pressure on the UAE and kept the wickets tumbling throughout the innings as the UAE were never allowed to get back into the game and crashed to all out for an under par 109 with 9 balls left unused.
A required run rate of 5.5 for Scotland to win was easy for their strong top order to overhaul with style.
Tougher opposition will come for Scotland in their next game against the Netherlands on Saturday while the UAE next game is also against the Dutch on Sunday.
