After a shaky start Scotland cruised to a comfortable six wicket win over Namibia in their opening warm up match.

Chasing 128 things started badly for Scotland as Munsey was bowled in the first over for 4. Coetzer and Wallace kept the score moving along at a good pace before Wallace was caught hitting out but failing to clear the covers.

Leask hit a huge six straight down the ground to signal that the attacking batting was going to continue but was caught behind the very next ball to have Scotland wavering at 3/37 after 3.4 overs.

Coetzer and Berrington formed the second best partnership of the innings as Coetzer looked to stabilize the innings allowing Berrington to play some scintillating shots all around the ground. Coatzer's run a ball 28 was not without its charms but came to an end when Left arm spinner Scholtz had him trapped in front L.B.W.

Mommsen came in and took over where Coetzer left off and allowed Berrington to race away and bring up his 50 from 31 balls and finish with 61 from 35 balls and give Scotland a convincing victory.

Earlier in the day Namibia won the toss and chose to bat and managed to get off to a good start before Snyman was the first man out in the fourth over. Regular wickets from then on kept the scoring rate down and every time they looked to be getting on top of the conditions Scotland managed to grab a breakthrough.

Scotland's bowlers were twice on a hat-trick: first Leask struck with his second ball to remove Burger L.B.W. for 9 before bowling Scholtz off an inside edge the very next ball. Then after the spinners had strangled the scoring Evans had Kotze caught on the boundary edge and then Van Schoor caught and bowled off a leading edge. Both bowlers failed to push for the hat-trick through with average third balls.

By this stage the damage was done and Namibia could only stumble to 8/127 aided by the odd big hit and some very nervous running.
