At B.R.A.'s Castle Grounds the NCU secured second place in the U-13 interprovincials as they beat Munster by 183 runs.
Batting first, the NCU complied a monumental 291-4 in their forty overs. Oliver Metcalfe led the way, making an undefeated 94 from only 73 balls. His knock contained 9 fours and 4 sixes.
The partnership between Metcalfe and Matthew Humphreys for the third wicket was the bedrock of the NCU innings: the pair put on 108 and Humphreys himself made 84 from 98 balls, striking 12 boundaries.
There were useful contributions from Archie Johnston (25) and James Humphreys, while Midleton's Shane O'Reilly took three wickets for Munster.
Munster's batsmen never threatened the NCU total. Tom Mahon made 30 from 31 balls, but there was precious little support as the CSNI pair of Adam Simmonite and Hugh Minford claimed three victims apiece.
Munster were dismissed for 108 in the twenty-ninth over.
