Namibia ensured their promotion from Division Two with a thoroughly comprehensive eight wicket win over Canada, and in the process condemned the North Americans to Division Three.

Craig Williams' six wicket haul produced a remarkable collapse as Canada went from 107 for 1 to 138 for 8, losing seven wickets for 31 runs.

Williams had figures of 5 for 13 at one juncture, eventually finishing with 6 for 37. Bernard Scholtz showed exceptional control in his ten over spell taking 2 for 19.

Srimantha Wijeratne (52) and Nitish Kumar (43) had added 70 for the second wicket, coming together after a typically pyrotechnic start from the explosive Rizwan Cheema who smashed 28 from just 13 balls, including five boundaries in the first over of the day.

The tail rallied as the last two wickets added 86, with Satsimranjit Dhindsa hitting an unbeaten 43. He was given solid support by Durand Soraine and Cecil Parvez, both of whom made 19 as Canada finished on 224.

Any nerves Namibia may have felt were quickly dispelled as Gerrie Snyman and Stephan Baard dismantled the toothless Canadian attack.

The pair added 133 with Syman dominating with a trademark powerful display, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes in his 83 from just 74 balls.

Baard was a little more circumspect, his 79 taking 91 balls and included 8 fours and one maximum.

Gerhard Erasmus (37*) and Raymond van Schoor (15*) ensured there were no late dramas as the hosts coasted to the eight wicket win with 9.3 overs to spare.

They now face The Netherlands in the play-off finals after the Oranje produced an almost Lazarus like comeback to overhaul Nepal on run-rate after recording their second emphatic win in as many days.

It should be quite a contest as the Dutch seek revenge after their 188 run mauling at the hands of Namibia earlier in the week.
