The Ugandan Cricket Association has repudiated doubts regarding the eligibility of two of their players, Phillemon Mukobe and Abram Mutyagabe, ahead of World Cricket League Division Two.

The questions raised in these pages as to whether the two players satisfied the development criteria for eligibility which apply to the tournament were addressed in statement from Justine Ligyalingi, UCA's CEO.

"We strongly refute the insinuations in your article of improper conduct by players and the UCA in complying with squad submission and eligibility criteria. We also challenge the comments that suggest we were avoiding your queries."

"Note that Abram and Phillemon satisfy both the core criteria and development criteria, and were cleared to play for Uganda by the ICC after submitting the relevant documentation, including passports and development criteria."

Ligyalingi went on to state that both players hold dual South African and Ugandan citizenship, and play in the Ugandan domestic league during the South African off season.
