Baharain, the WCL Div.7 champion, made an electrifying start to its target chase when it raced to 48-0 in 3.5 overs. At that stage, it suffered its first loss when Imran Sajjad departed after hitting a rapid 32.
Fast bowler James Moses then created inroads in Bahrain's top order, having opener Qamar Saeed caught by wicket-keeper Denzil Sequira for 14, clean bowling Abdul Majeed and Adil Hanif and finally trapping Ashraf Yaqoob lbw to finish with figures of 4-28 to walk away with the man of the match award.
Moses said later: 'After the tongue-lashing we had from our captain after the last defeat, we all knew we had to come hard in today's match. It, therefore, feels great to win our first match of the tournament.
'But we have to stayed focused as tomorrow is a big match against Malaysia and we need to carry the same momentum and winning mentality to the field. It felt good to be awarded the second man of the match award and it's even sweeter because we won our match.'
