Bahrain secured its second win of the tournament today after beating fellow Division 7 qualifiers Guernsey by 62 runs at Kalang.
It is the third time Bahrain has beaten Guernsey in the space of four months, and it is not something that sits well with Guernsey coach Andy Cornford.
'Bahrain are very positive when the bat,' he said. 'They bat well and they bat deep which is something we just weren't able to combat today. It's something we spoke about before the match but not a plan that came off when we were out there.
'We're in a bit of dogfight now to stay in Division 6 and tomorrow's game against Norway is going to be crucial for us, so we've got to go in there with a good attitude despite the loss today,' said Cornford.
Bahrain made an impressive 251 runs in its innings, with Adil Hanif making 92 off 123 balls while Azeem ul Haque again proved strong with bat finishing on 72 not out.
Guernsey's Blane Queripel had the best match figures for his side, 2-14 but only bowled three overs.
Jeremy Frith compiled a hard fought 56 before caught by Shahzad Ahmad and the Guernsey middle order failed to get the runs on the board in order to chase down their target. Bahrain's Fahad Sadeq finished with 3-47 including the wickets of Frith and Lee Savident.
In Tuesday's matches, Malaysia will take on Botswana at Kalang, Singapore will face Bahrain at Singapore Cricket Club and Guernsey will play Norway at Indian Association.
At Kalang: Bahrain 251 all out, 50 overs (Adil Hanif 92, Azeem Ul Haque 72 not out; Blane Queripel 2-14)
Guernsey 189 all out, 46.5 overs (Jeremy Frith 56, Lee Ferbrache 36 not out; Fahad Sadeq 3-47)
