Moving onto the final match of the opening day, Norway took on Botswana at the Kalang ground in a match that was the highest scoring of all three of the day's fixtures.

Having won the toss, Botswana's captain Omar Ali sent Norway into bat, a decision that enabled the side to clock up 270-9 at the end of its 50 overs. Norway captain and opening bat Zaheer Ashiq was at the crease for 91 minutes before departing for 75 and lead a strong batting line-up that included Shahid Ahmad who also made 75.

The side seemed to struggle with the heat and humidity but that didn't stop Adeel Ibrar making 43 runs, before being caught and bowled by Botswana's Noor Ahmad.

Botswana's James Moses has the best bowling figures of 3-32 and went on to be the game's only centurion after he valiantly batted Botswana to within 19 runs of victory. Botswana started well when it began its run chase in the second innings, but it was up to the 44-year-old elder statesman of the side to bring the side to within a chance of victory.

Man of the match Moses made his 101 off 103 balls and was the last wicket to fall to Norway's Aamir Waheed.

Waheed has a particularly successful time with the ball taking match figures of 6-56 but the side did bowl the highest amount of wide balls of all the teams playing today, a total of 15.

Botswana coach Solly Chotia commented: 'We really tried very hard today and we just didn't quite make it. This is the first of six matches we'll be playing and we must take the positives and look now to beating Singapore tomorrow.'
