Guernsey began its build-up to Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 6 in a positive fashion on Tuesday in Singapore after beating a local club side in a 20-over fixture by nine wickets.
Guernsey were playing at the Singapore India Association cricket ground against the Grant Stanley Select XI made up of a variety of Singapore national team fringe players and local club representatives.
The Select XI opened the batting making 124-6 after 20 overs, while Guernsey reached its target for the loss of just one wicket.
Andy Abbott of the local side made an impress 21 off eight balls, while Ross Kneller top scored for the Guernsey side with 28, but retired to give the other batsmen in his side an opportunity to practice.
Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost said: 'It was good to get a game in today and a win under our belts ahead of the tournament next week.
'It was important to us to be out here early to get used to the humidity and the conditions and we're looking forward to the event.
'A number of the team have been doing very well in our home leagues and I hope we as a side can carry that good form through.'
