Guernsey flies out to Singapore on Sunday hopeful that it can challenge for a promotion place in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 6.

But the side believes that it may be difficult to compete with the likes of Bahrain, Botswana, Malaysia, Norway and the hosts.

'‘Our ultimate aim is come first or second,' said Guernsey team manager Dave Hearse in an interview with the Guernsey Press.

'That's obviously very difficult to achieve when we don't know the opposition, apart from Bahrain. We think it's going to be very hard to get first or second place.

'If that's the case the main objective is to come third or fourth and stay in the league.'

If it achieves one of the two promotion places, it will join arch-rivals Jersey in Division 5 along with USA, Nepal and Fiji.
