First thanks to Gerry Bryne for compiling the averages and to CricketEurope for providing scorecards. To provide accurate ranking points I need full scorecards rather than summarys but generally the information has been excellent.
The rankings are accurate to 28th of June however some players have not played enough games to receive an accurate ranking score. As the weather improves I'm sure this will enable a number of players to come in under the radar and the table could change significantly.
The system used is exactly the same as the NCU player ranking and includes the Irish Senior Cup matches played so far. Direct comparisons are difficult to make because players have played different number of matches. What the table does show is how influential those players have been for their regional clubs so far this season.
I have put an asterisk beside players whose clubs have played last weekend but have not provided a scorecard. The players points have not been included but I don't expect them to change much more than a few points either way. The best way to influence your score in a positive fashion is to a) play the fixture and b)score a fifty or a hundred. They receive bonus points because I feel a batsman who manages a 'score' tends to have a positive outcome on the result of the fixture for his team. It isn't always the case but it merits the bonus points in my book.
