In Saturday's all important 9th-12th place semi-final match Denmark won the toss and put Uganda in to bat.

Arthur Kyobe was brought back into the side, at the expense of the underused Ssematimba. Nehal Bibodi's decent effort in the last match meant he kept his place.

And what a good decision that was, as the "wise old man" of the team sparkled both with bat and ball. Led by his 104 not out, coming at a run a ball, the batting was much improved again with the middle order coming to the party.

Joel Olweny gave a good innings of 57, and Nsubuga, Kamyuka and Musoke wrapped it up with hard-hitting, rapid scoring displays, Uganda putting on a very useful 292 for 6.

In reply Denmark quickly lost the wicket of Michael Pederson in the third over, but then stabilised and batted quietly to the 25th over. At this stage the game could still have gone either way.

But, then the wickets started to tumble, and coming at regular intervals as they did, Denmark could not climb back into the match. They eventually ran out of time posting a total of 230 for 8, handing Uganda a significant 62 run victory.

Nehal's fine batting was well complemented by his bowling, as when he came on things really started to happen with two run-outs and two wickets during his stint. He well earned his man-of-the-match award.

"We are very happy to have secured Division Two status with this win," affirmed team manager Justine Ligyalingi, "and the High Performance programme that goes along with it."

Uganda's next match, Monday, will be for 9th place against Bermuda.
