With most of Scotland's domestic clubs showing signs of coming out of hibernation, CricketEurope has been catching up with the latest developments, in our new regular Club Round-up' feature.
Uddingston
Senior Winter Nets will once again be held at West Of Scotlands Indoor Facility. The sessions will be held on the 5 Sundays in March commencing on Sunday 1st March . The time of the sessions will be 11am to 1pm . All current and new players are welcome to come along. A small charge of £4 a session will be required per player to help cover the costs of the hall .
Meanwhile the search for a new professional and overseas amateur is almost over with an announcement due within days of who the new sigings are.
Aberdeenshire
It's been a quiet few months since the club swept the board at the SNCL awards, Aberdeenshire received the Magners Club of the Year Award in addition to the flag as Division 1 winners. Ken McCurdie also recieved the Groundsman of the Year, in recognition of his efforts in connection with the staging of One-Day Internationals at Mannofield for the first time.
Their New Zealand professional Todd Astle has been among the runs and wickets recently. He scored 101 for Cantebury in their drawn game with Northern Districts, and took 2 for 12 in their T20 win over Central Districts.
Clydesdale
The club has achieved Clubmark Get Active status. Active Glasgow Clubmark is the club accreditation scheme that Glasgow City Council has created in partnership with the Sports Council for Glasgow, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Glasgow Volunteer Centre, CHILDREN 1ST and sportscotland.The aim is to recognise and accredit clubs that are committed to providing an effective, safe and inclusive environment for all, especially children and young people. Clubmark is an integral part of Glasgow City Council's development for and with sports clubs.
The Senior side have started their net sessions, with players shaking off the winter excesses, and getting into shape for the coming season.
Heriot's
Pre-season net practice starts on Monday 9th March 2009 at the National Cricket Academy, Mary Erskine School from 8pm-10pm and will continue each week until Monday 13 April 2009.
Former player Ian Ramage, the Umpire of the Year in 2008, was last month elevated to the ICC Elite Associate and Affiliate Umpiring Panel. "I am, of course, delighted and honoured to have been selected to join this international Panel," said Ramage, who works during the week for United Utilities in Warrington, Cheshire.
"Fortunately, I have an understanding boss who is also a cricketer, and I have been saving up leave to make myself available whenever the ICC calls."
Grange
Simon Smith has been placed on standby for Scotland for the WCQ. With his namesake Colin reportedly troubled by a back injury, Simon may well get the chance to feature in South Africa.
The East of Scotland U12 squad for 2009 sees Rory Turnbull, Cameron Sloman and Mark Allan selected.
The Senior side has qualified for the final of the CricketMedia Super sixes to be played on March 6.

Carlton
Senior indoor practice sessions started on Sunday February 8th at Edinburgh Academy Sports Hall.
The senior side, and both junior squads, got their respective indoor seasons off to a winning start at the end of January.
A quickfire 55 from Rob Thornton saw Carlton to 184 for 3 in their first match against SMRH, who replied with 136 for 4.
The second match saw Carlton stumble to 107 all out, but left-armer Tom Clarke picked up 3 for 7 as Edinburgh University could only muster 93 for 4 in reply.

Craig Everett and Chayank Gosain took the batting honours for the Under 13s in a close match against West Lothian, while Rory Simpson was the pick of the bowlers. Carlton Under 13s scored 286 to West Lothian's 269.
The Under 11s meanwhile ran up an identical batting score in their opener against Penicuik, after getting off to a great start thanks to an excellent opening partnership. In reply Penicuik were restricted to 266.
The big news over the close season was of course the signing of Gordon Drummond as the new Head Coach.
Welcoming Gordon to Carlton, club president Dave Carter said: "I'm delighted that someone of Gordon's stature has decided to join us, and I anticipate that he will have a big part to play in our long term plans for player development and our support for youth cricket in Scotland."
West of Scotland
A quiet close season for the club who won the promotion play off last season. Dave McNulty winning the Division One bowler of the year accolade being the only newsworth item.
