Hong Kong coach Aftab Habib praised his players after it defeated Argentina by seven wickets at the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3.
After dismissing Argentina for 107, it reached its target with 22.4 overs to spare.
'I was really pleased as the first match is always an important match in any tournament,' said Habib.
'Argentina is a pretty good outfit and we had to play well on the day to beat them.
'The host game is always a difficult game first up and they had the advantage of playing at home,' said Habib.
Hong Kong's next match is against Afghanistan on Sunday, who it lost to twice at the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4 last year.
'We lost twice to them in Tanzania due to some errors and mistakes and we need to make sure that we don't do the same things again tomorrow,' said Habib.
'Afghanistan is a good team, we know we are a good team, and it is all down to who performs the best on the day.'
