Papua New Guinea skipper Rarua Dikana was delighted by the efforts of his side after recording a comprehensive victory by 6 wickets against Cayman Islands.

His side reached its target of 122 with 29.1 overs to spare on an eventful opening day of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3 at Belgrano.

Dikana took 5-14 as his side bowled out Cayman Islands for just 121 all out, before Man of the Match Vani Vagi Morea hit a belligerent 64 off just 51 balls to guide his team to victory.

'It is always nice to have a good win which sets us up for this week,' said Dikana.

'They got off to a good start but we stuck to our game plan and to keep them to 121 all out was a great effort.

'It was a good bowling wicket and I was hitting the deck really well.'

PNG face hosts Argentina at Corimayo on Sunday, while Cayman Islands face Uganda.
