Fiji coach Colin Siller was left bitterly disappointed as his side was thrashed by Italy by 254 runs at the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4.

It made just 64 all out, following on from 52 all out against Afghanistan yesterday, and Siller admitted that the performance levels from his side weren't up to the standard required to compete at this level.

'It was fair to say that we were beaten by a far better team in all departments,' said Siller.

'Our batting at times was a bit embarrassing and we need to do better.

'Our boys when they are playing in Fiji play what I call ‘Fiji cricket' which is four, six and out. That's pretty much the way they played today.

'For the past few months we have been trying to work on them and encourage them to play with proper technique and play the good balls and play with a straight bat but today that all went out the window.'

Siller admitted that it is a worry that Fiji has yet to be competitive at this event, following some good displays at the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3 in Darwin, Australia in May 2007.

'It's my first trip with Fiji and I'm getting to see where the gap has widened over the last year,' said Siller.

'Fiji haven't learned the lessons that Hong Kong and Italy has and this is something that when we go back to Fiji we're seriously going to have sit down and talk about and see how we can get the standards back up to where they really should be for Fiji cricket.'
