Tanzanian skipper Hamisi Abdallah was in a confident mood ahead of his side's opening day clash against Jersey.

'It's a good chance for us as we are hosting the tournament and the people in Tanzania are supporting us,' said Abdallah, speaking at the colourful Opening Ceremony.

'We just have to focus on winning and we are ready for everything. We're going to fight to win this tournament and make it to Argentina.'

Abdallah believed that his side had made the perfect preparations for the tournament.

'We went to England, played eight matches, and won six games, which was good preparation for this event,' he said.

'We learned to be patient and played against good players there.'

The other matches on Saturday will see Hong Kong play Tanzania, while Fiji will play Afghanistan.
