Kabir Khan was delighted with his Afghanistan team as they recorded a second consecutive victory in the warm-up matches for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4.
The newly appointed coach saw his side defeat Italy in an exciting game by 3 runs, following on from yesterday's defeat of a Tanzanian Development squad.
Khan believed that the performance reflects a new mental resolve to his side's undoubted natural talents.
'In both warm-up matches we have been down but come back. Against Italy we were 30-4, but the batters at five and six came and scored 90 runs,' said Khan.
'The players have said that in the past they would never have come back from situations like that.'
Hong Kong easily won a Twenty20 warm-up match against Fiji by 73 runs, with skipper Tabarak Dar the start of the game with 75 not out off 60 balls.
Hong Kong made 145-8, while Fiji reached 72-8 in reply.
