Tanzanian coach Zulfikar Rehemtulla has said that his side will not underestimate any of the opposition at the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 event even though his side will have home advantage.

'We will not underestimate any team. We will play our best we can at this event and if we get to Argentina (where the Division 3 event will take place) it will be a challenge and we would have to do even more preparation,' said Rehemtulla

Tanzania, who has just returned from a tour to the UK where they won six matches, lost one game and one other match was rained off, is hoping the tournament will lead to even greater interest in cricket in the country.

'Everybody is very excited. The newspapers are giving us some good coverage already,' said Rehemtulla.

'We already have a good level of interest in cricket. We have a good development program and cricket is played in both primary and secondary schools.'

Rehemtulla also revealed the type of conditions that the sides will be facing in the six-team event which begins on 4 October, with Tanzania facing Jersey on the opening day of the tournament.

'We have hard wickets in Tanzania – not soft wickets like those we will have played on in the UK recently. They are not quite as hard as those in Australia but they do bounce,' said Rehemtulla

'Our wickets will also take both pace and spin.'

'I think that teams will find it quite humid. It will be about 34 degrees. For teams coming from Europe it will either be like a summer holiday or too hot for them!'
