Jersey who had led the tournament from day one saw the title snatched from their grasp when they were beaten by Denmark and hosts Scotland overcame Ireland in a rain affected match to snatch victory.

Jersey won the toss and elected to bat at Forthill, Hare and Edward Fricker put on 27 for the first wicket before Hare was run out. Wickets continued to fall as Jersey in a rain interrupted match found it difficult to get any momentum. Eventually they closed on 126 for 8 from their reduced allocation of 34 overs.

Further rain during the interval saw Denmark set a target of 101 in 27 overs. After losing Mati Malik with only 17 on the board, a solid partnership of 62 by Osman Ali and Khizar Javaid set up victory for the Danes despite some excellent bowling from Man of the Tournament Ryan Evans who finished with 3 for 19.

At Lochlands Arbroath Scotland won the toss and asked Ireland to bat. Gavin Main quickly captured the wicket of danger man Nathan Burns with only 7 on the board, and despite starts from Barr, Magee and Adair the Irish were all out for 154 in the forty first over

The Scots with captain Ross McLean and Danial Chaudhry leading from the front set up a winning position with a 56 run partnership for the first wicket , and although both perished at this point Nicholas Farrar with 21 and Alexander with 35 not out saw the Scots home to victory on faster run rate as a torrential downpour saw the match abandoned

In the other match Netherlands beat Guernsey by 24 runs to seal fourth place. Netherlands batting first were all out for 134 in the forty third over, but Guernsey could not reach the required target thanks to some tidy Dutch bowling with Vivian Kingma taking 4 for 12 they finished 29 runs short.

Hosts Scotland finished top of the group on wicket run rate ratio to make up for the disappointment of losing by run rate at the Under 19 tournament in Jersey, and will look to make it a hat trick of titles in 2010
