Conor Geraghy of Malahide was Ireland's top batsman in Netherlands as the Under 13s scored 179 for five in their 40 overs against Scotland. After Downpatrick's James Magowan went in the first over, Geraghty and Bready's Christopher Dougherty compiled a century stand for the second wicket and Stuart Lester of Armagh chipped in at the end with a breezy knock.

Lester and Mark Robinson of Cooke Collegians then kept it tight in an impressive opening bowling spell and they received good back-up from Kyle Tonetti and Donemana's Andrew Britton. But it was the off spin of Lurgan's Thomas Morton and the leg spin bowling of captain Greg Thompson which proved difference. They shared six wickets and ripped through Scottish middle order to give the team great confidence going into the weekend games against Netherlands today and Denmark. Daryl Service and Donal Vaughan were the two squad players to miss out in yesterday's opener.
