Denmark Squad
Amjad Khan (Captain)
KB
Age 18. Amjad is one of the team's veterans, having played in the 1998 World Cup in South Africa and the 1997 International Youth Tournament in Bermuda. A fast scoring batsman and high quality opening bowler, he has already attracted attention from both Kent and Sussex County Cricket Clubs.

Frederik Klokker
Kerteminde
Age 16. Frederik is a specialist opening batsman, as well as the team's wicketkeeper. A very talented player with a wide range of strokes, he has continued to develop from his appearances in South Africa and Bermuda as a 14 year old.

Bobby Chawla
Svanholm
Age 16. Bobby is one of the team's leading legspin bowlers, as well as a highly talented technical batsman. Having played several matches for Danish champions Svanholm, we are hoping that he will continue to develop into a frilly fledged national player over the next few years.

Asif Ahmed
Albertslund
Age 17. Asif is one of the team's leading allrounders. He opens the bowling with good pace, and backs up the middle order with his quick scoring but solid technique. Again he is another young player showing signs of improvement in domestic cricket. Asif is without doubt one of the team's major assets.

Khurum Hayat
Albertslund
Age 18. Khuram is another specialist opening batsman, again with a solid technique and excellent powers of concentration. A real team man, he works at all aspects of his game and is one to look out for when running between the wickets.

Jesper Hansen
Esbjerg
Age 18. Another veteran of the team, Jesper has played cricket on the American, African and European continents during his past thee years with the team. A solid, technically correct batsman and fast improving fielder, he will be a player to keep an eye on throughout the tournament.

Rasmus Christensen
Esbjerg
Age 18. One of two left arm spinners in the squad, Rasmus also performed well in the successful campaigns in South Africa and Bermuda. A definite spinner of the ball, he will be looking forward to a return to Britain this year where a bag full of wickets was obtained last year.

Mads Schmidt
Esbjerg
Age 17. A fast medium bowler and hard hitting batsman from the west coast of Jutland, Mads has the ability to win a game single handed. All eyes are on him to continue his recent ascent in the game.

Kasper Poulsen
Nykobing Mors
Age 16. Another allrounder in the squad, Casper is an orthodox left arm spinner with excellent control and variation. Elevation to his clubs senior side this season has also seen a promising improvement in his batting technique and approach. Again one to watch.

Andy Lambert
Skanderborg
Age 18. A high quality top order batsman, Andy will be relishing the opportunity to return to Britain for another chance to play on grass pitches. He is also a useful left arm change bowler whose brisk pace is his most useful attribute.

Steffen Laier
Svanholm
Age 18. Probably the most natural athlete within the squad, Steffen is a wonderfully gifted top order batsman. Allied to this ability is a good understanding of the game, and his positive batting and fielding is often inspirational to all around him. Definitely one to watch closely during the tournament.

John Due
Kerteminde
Age 17. A very useful off spinner and excellent fielder, John is rapidly progressing to be one of the team's finest allrounders. Couple this with his ability to raise his game to the match situation, and you have one of the team's most influential players.

Zeshan Elahi
Ishoj CC
Age 15. Zeshan is an off-spin bowler who is also a very useful batsman. He is one of the youngest players in the squad and a player with a great potential.

Jorgen Jonsson
Coach
Age 59. As the former national coach (1986-90) and captain of Danish national champions, Svanholm, Jorgen has literally been the back bone of Danish cricket over the past two decades. A useful player in his own right, taking over a thousand wickets, he has worked closely in recent years with his close friend Peter P Klokker to develop a number of outstanding players at all levels of Danish cricket.

Peter P Klokker
Coach/Manager
Age 45. A former opening batsman for the national team and now a highly qualified coach, Peter has been responsible for the Danish under 19 side since 1984. Working closely with Jorgen Jonsson, he has been responsible for many of the current Danish national team players.
