Portugal took on Austria at the Drummond Cricket ground and in the end had few problems in securing the win. Batting first Austria scored 123 with skipper Andrew Simpson-Parker top scoring with 23, 16 year old Aman Deep making 17, and the experienced Wolfgang Tesar 16. Their total was bolstered by the fact that Portugal conceded no fewer than 24 wides. For Portugal Camlesh Ramchande with 3 for 21 was the most successful with the ball.

Portugal lost four wickets in chasing the Austrian total with Ramesh Bagvane finishing unbeaten on 25. Mohamad Usman and Intesab Medhi also scored well played 20Ős. For Austria Aman Deep had figures of 2 for 19 while Simpson-Parker and Kasturiarachchigge each took a wicket apiece.
