Day Three: Two Remain Unbeaten

Two teams remain unbeaten in the championship to-night with ECB and Germany leading their divisions.

And both divisions bear an identical look with two teams in each with two wins (Scotland/Ireland and Gibraltar/Portugal), two in each with one win (Holland/Italy and Israel/ France) and one in each without a point Đ Denmark and Austria.

The day saw the tournament's first century with GermanyŐs Anees Butt (left) hitting an undefeated 102 in a 10 wicket win over Israel. Remarkably his partner Mark Brodersen scored only six as Butt hit nine fours and seven sixes in a century that took only 75 balls.

The day's top game saw England run out five wicket victors over Holland and in a match were runs were hard to come by, skipper Steve Foster and Tim de Leede both managed half centuries for their sides.

The bowling performance of the day came from IrelandŐs pace man Gary Neely (right) with 5 for 30 as Italy fell only 28 runs short in chasing 231. Bonora and Ketipe both hit half centuries but the knock of the match came from IrelandŐs Kyle McCallan with 75.

Colin Smith of Scotland was Division One's highest scorer of the day, his 87 steering his side to victory over a Danish team that has still to register a win.

Austria came close to breaking their duck going down narrowly by two wickets to Gibraltar. Loader had registered a half century for the Austrians but it was an undefeated 47 by Hudson which took Gibraltar to victory.

France opened their points account with a six wicket victory over Portugal.
